Steven Xi
Founding General Partner

Steven Xi is the Founder and Managing Partner of Eastlink Capital. He was Managing Director (China) at Riverwood Capital, a tech focused global growth capital PE firm with over $2Billion assets under management. Based at Riverwood’s Menlo Park office, he focused on Internet, software/IT services and digital media investments related to China. Prior to joining Riverwood in 2007, Mr. Xi was a Managing Director at The Hina Group Fund I, where he focused on expansion-stage investments in the technology and digital media space. Since 2004, Mr. Xi has invested in several successful companies including MobileIron (Nasdaq: MOBL), Framedia (sold to Focus Media (Nasdaq: FMCN) for $183 million), VanceInfo Technologies (Nasdaq: PACT), and RenRen (NYSE: Renn). Before joining Hina in late 2004, Mr. Xi was an Acting Executive Vice President of Corporate Development at VanceInfo. Prior to that, he co-founded and managed an ecommerce startup with locations in Silicon Valley and Beijing. Prior to his entrepreneurial experience, Mr. Xi spent six and half years in investment banking and principal investment in New York and Hong Kong. He started his investment banking career with CSFB in New York. Mr. Xi earned an MBA from the University of Chicago, an MA in economics from the University of Southern California and a BS in physics from Jilin University. Mr. Xi also spent one year in graduate studies at the Ford Foundation Economic Training Center at Remin University of China.

Wei Sun
Venture Partner

Dr. Wei Sun is a Venture Partner of Eastlink Capital, focusing on mobile and digital health sectors. Dr. Sun once served as founding member of US clean nuclear energy and solar energy research enterprises, project manager of international financial information provider Morningstar and international consulting firm Booz & Co. Dr. Sun has been responsible for technology research and development, supply chain management and strategy development as the founding member for start-up companies, which has won financial support from the US government and several top US venture capitals. When working at the leading consultancy company, Dr. Sun has led market development in the field of healthcare, and has provided services to multinational enterprises, joint ventures and state-owned enterprises on various aspects such as development plan, acquisition scheme, market strategy, cultural integration, etc. Dr. Sun has accumulated rich experience in international resource integration and cross-industry operation. Dr. Sun received Biomedical Engineering PHD from University of Rochester with three international patents and MBA from University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

David Cao
Venture Partner

David Cao is ​a Venture Partner of Eastlink Capital, and focuses on the AI, mobile and big data sectors. David was the VP of Human Resources in Global Operations at Alibaba Group, where he managed many different groups. Previously, he was the director of Human Resources at Amazon and Codexis Inc, as well as the Sr. HR Business Partner at Intuit. David received a MBA from the Fordham Gabelli School of Business.

Tony Wang
Senior Associate

Tony is a a Senior Associate of Eastlink Capital. Prior to joining to Eastlink, he was responsible for data science at Remind (an education startup), while working part-time at Eastlink Capital as a venture scout. He also worked in the capital market division of Morgan Stanley. He graduated from Stanford University with a double major in computer science and management science and engineering. He enjoys meeting visionary and technical founders and he is excited about consumer mobile and AI-enabled businesses.

Chen (Zoe) Luo
Entrepreneur in Residence

Chen (Zoe) Luo is an Entrepreneur in Residence of Eastlink Capital, where she is responsible for performing due diligence on early-stage investment opportunities. Zoe is enthusiastic about the transformation brought by technologies and data in different verticals including healthcare and enterprise cloud-based solutions. In her view, key elements of successful entrepreneurship consist of optimism, experimentalism and personal accountability. Zoe is currently pursing M.S. in Electrical Engineering at Stanford University and consistently advocate women entrepreneurship.

Richard Li
Investment Analyst

Richard Li is an Investment Analyst of Eastlink Capital. He has always been interested in the confluence of business and technology. He is also a Partner at the Johns Hopkins VC network & angel fund, A-Level Capital. Prior to Eastlink, Richard was a Summer Associate at Legend Capital and a Venture Capital Intern at CAS Investment Management. He also interned at RSM China as a Summer Financial Auditor. Richard is graduating from Johns Hopkins University with a M.S. in Applied Mathematics. He is particularly interested in AI/data and healthcare technologies.

Jinhong (Kevin) Chen
investment Analyst

Jinhong (Kevin) Chen is an Investment Analyst of Eastlink Capital. Jinhong is passionate about building companies and helping them grow. Before joining Eastlink, he had various internships at startups in San Francisco and China. He is also a book lover, a NGO leader, and a surfer. Jinhong is currently pursing a B.S in business administration from University of California, Berkeley - Haas School of Business, and a B.A in political science from University of California, Berkeley - College of Letter and Science.

Tom Zhang
Venture Advisor

Tom Zhang is a Silicon Valley talent acquisition expert, and has extensive experience in Sino US technical recruiting and executive search. As a senior HR consultant at Tesla Motors Asia Pacific, he helped set up the first Tesla Asia Pacific team. He was a former Google-talent Evangelist at Google headquarters, and later joined Tencent to lead their over-seas talent acquisition. He taught at the Department of Computer Science at San Jose State University, and received his Ph.D degree at Zhejiang University.
